Why do people make their commissions $25 or 2500

Like, they're not even sending the real picture

Summer vacation is coming up so I'll be taking requests! (:
Guidelines:
• first come is not first serve
• HAS to be your OC
• I might never draw your OC, it just depends how I'm feeling
• only drawing HUMAN FEMALES (don't know how to draw males, sorry!)
• feel free to give me female animals and I'll turn them into a human (:
• NEED reference(s)!! Preferably colored!
• don't expect these any time soon because exams start next week!

Post picture references of your ocs in the comments and write a little about them like their name, personality, hobbies, etc.
Based off your description, I will attempt ( key word attempt ) to draw them in poses I think fit them. I've never really drawn people posing so it'll help me practice. My drawings of people are always really stiff so I'm trying to improve :aww:
I'll draw all of them ( maybe ( probably ) ) on a piece of paper and just group all the drawings together. This is gonna be more of a sketch than a drawing.
And lastly, your oc has to be a female human. I might do animals depending on how I feel.

uhm...I was passing by to give you a llama and I noticed this journal so I thought I maybe should give you and answer? ( I know this journal is old xD Just wanted to share my opinion C: )
Yes, I know you don't get a phisical picture, but a person has phisically worked on your commission, spent time doing it!
Donig a commission for money it's not done just for pleasure , it's sort of a job , so of course you have to get paid for how much you think your time is worth.
When I open commissions it means I'll be working on art and won't dedicate that time to studies, so of course I'll ask you a /tot/ quantity of money.
I actually consider how much time a picture/commission takes to be made and convert it in money.
It takes me 1 hour? I ask you 7 dollars. It takes more? More dollars.
Remember. It's basically a job! You pay people for the job they've done!
I think everybody should get paid for how much they think their art is worth! I see a lot of underpaid commissions here on dA only because people keep complaining on the prices :C
